On Thursday 16 November and Friday 17 November, procure.ch, Swiss association for Procurement and Supply Management, hosted a conference about Procurement's role in the context of digitalisation in Brunnen, Switzerland.
Dr Stephan Knapek, Managing Partner, presented game theory’s potential for Procurement and explained in a joint workshop with Oliver Teich, Purchasing Director Europe for Nemak, how the application of game theory to Procurement negotiations can achieve above average results.
Even though the knowledge of game theory is still rather limited within many Swiss companies, the audience was fascinated by the practical relevance of the topic; especially regarding the user’s perspective and the methodology’s advantages, which were vividly demonstrated by our client Nemak. The positive feedback afterwards demonstrated Procurement professionals’ genuine interest in the innovations and possibilities offered by game theory.
