Two CIPS Excellence in Procurement Awards for TWS projects

Congratulations to our teams and their clients for winning two awards at the CIPS Excellence in Procurement Awards 2020!

NHSE&I and TWS Partners were awarded Public Procurement Project of the Year

TWS Partners and NHS England used market and mechanism design to support the elimination of a deadly disease in England – Hepatitis C. This “world-class” and “first-of-its-kind” deal will help England in its ambition to become the first country in the world to eliminate the deadly disease. The judges were impressed by the “excellent demonstration of an advanced procurement approach, delivered in a very challenging sector with embedded norms and commercial practices,” and thought it was “truly innovative and potentially transformational in terms of how drugs are procured.”

Lloyds Banking Group won the “Highly Commended” award in the Procurement Consultancy Project category for their work with TWS Partners

Working across functions, TWS Partners and LBG developed a game-theoretically enhanced sourcing approach for framework agreements. The process now serves as a blueprint for any category that utilises framework agreements or panel-based sourcing decisions with the challenge of undefined scope at time of sourcing. The project not only delivered exceptional results, but it elevated Procurement to a true value driver within the organisation.

The awards ceremony was held on 16 September 2020 as a virtual event due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

With entries judged by some of the leading minds within the sector, winning an Excellence in Procurement Award is one of the most prestigious recognitions an organisation or individual in the profession can receive.
